Anti-SLC3A1 Antibody

The SLC3A1 polypeptide, also called rBAT or NBAT, is a type II membrane glycoprotein that assembles with SLC7A9 at the plasma membrane to form a heterodimeric transporter mediating reabsorption of cystine and dibasic amino acids across the apical brush border of renal proximal tubules and across the small intestinal epithelium. Recessive loss-of-function variants in this gene underlie cystinuria type I, one of the principal inherited causes of recurrent kidney stones in children and young adults.

This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against the human SLC3A1 target and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum. It has been validated for Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human tissue, supporting studies of tubular reabsorption, intestinal amino acid uptake, and genotype–phenotype correlations in cystinuria patients. The antibody should be stored refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use and frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw loss of titre across repeated staining and blotting experiments.
