The SLC33A1 transporter (alternately named AT-1) is a multi-pass endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein that imports acetyl-CoA into the ER lumen, supplying acetyl groups for the transient lysine acetylation of nascent secretory and membrane proteins such as BACE1, amyloid precursor protein, and the low-density lipoprotein receptor. This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes conserved regions of SLC33A1 and is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative work across species.

Validated for Western blot, the unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 200 µl liquid aliquot in a vial ready for pairing with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies chosen by the end user. Loss-of-function studies have linked SLC33A1 to impaired oxidative protein folding, induction of autophagy-dependent ER-associated degradation, and the autosomal-recessive neurodegenerative disorder Huppke-Brendel syndrome, which presents with congenital cataracts, sensorineural hearing loss, severe developmental delay, and low ceruloplasmin and copper levels, making the protein a relevant marker in studies of ER stress, intracellular acetyl-CoA trafficking, and disease-associated cellular models.

For handling, refrigerate the vial on arrival and aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, preserving the polyclonal IgG population over the working shelf life. The product is intended for research use only in primary cells and tissue lysates.
