A rabbit polyclonal antibody targeting the human mitochondrial ornithine carrier SLC25A15, also known as ORNT1. SLC25A15 is an inner mitochondrial membrane transport protein that imports cytosolic ornithine into the matrix for entry into the urea cycle. Loss-of-function mutations in the gene cause HHH syndrome, also called hyperornithinemia-hyperammonemia-homocitrullinuria, an inherited urea cycle disorder characterized by elevated plasma ornithine, episodic hyperammonemia, and progressive neurological involvement.

Produced by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated rabbit IgG reagent, the antibody is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous human SLC25A15. The unconjugated format enables pairing with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent, fluorescent, or colorimetric blot readouts in standard SDS-PAGE workflows.

Each vial contains 100 µl of the primary antibody. Refrigerate upon arrival, aliquot into single-use portions to avoid freeze-thaw cycles, and freeze at -20 °C for longer-term storage. Protect from light, and note that the reagent is intended for research use only.

Application areas include characterization of mitochondrial ornithine transport in hepatic and fibroblast model systems, analysis of urea cycle flux under metabolic perturbation, investigation of HHH syndrome pathophysiology, and validation of SLC25A15 knockdown or overexpression studies in mammalian cell lines.
