Anti-SLC25A13 Antibody

Polyclonal antibodies raised against SLC25A13 from Antibodies.com target human citrin, a mitochondrial inner-membrane aspartate/glutamate carrier encoded by the SLC25A13 gene. The carrier protein is most strongly expressed in hepatocytes, where it supports cytosolic aspartate supply for the urea cycle and contributes to the malate-aspartate NADH shuttle. Loss-of-function alterations in SLC25A13 are linked to citrullinemia type II (CTLN2) and to neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis caused by citrin deficiency (NICCD), which is why the target is of interest in studies of hepatic metabolism and inherited mitochondrial disease.

This unconjugated rabbit reagent is supplied at 100 µl and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry in human, mouse, and rat samples. In western blot, the predicted molecular weight of full-length human citrin is approximately 74 kDa, and the antibody detects the endogenous mitochondrial isoform. For IHC, the unconjugated format lets users pair the antibody with their preferred HRP- or fluorescence-labeled secondary detection system. The reagent should be refrigerated on receipt; small aliquots prepared before use are recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across multiple experiments.
