Anti-SLC22A4 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the human OCTN1 protein, this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com recognises the SLC22A4 transporter, a polyspecific organic cation and carnitine carrier expressed at the apical membrane of intestinal and renal epithelial cells and in several immune cell populations. The unconjugated reagent has been validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous target in human, mouse, and rat samples and is widely used to investigate carnitine homeostasis, xenobiotic handling, and the reported contribution of OCTN1 to inflammatory bowel disease, primary carnitine deficiency, and immune-mediated disease models.

Each vial is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide, buffered to approximately pH 7.2. The 100 µl pack size provides enough reagent for multiple immunoblot experiments following SDS-PAGE separation and transfer to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, with chemiluminescent visualisation of the expected band. For storage, refrigerate the vial on receipt and freeze working aliquots at -20 °C for longer-term use to limit freeze-thaw cycling of this research-use-only reagent.
