Anti-SLC22A12 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation at 200 µl, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes the human SLC22A12 protein, better known as URAT1. URAT1 is the apical urate–anion exchanger of renal proximal tubule cells and is the transporter responsible for reclaiming filtered urate from the glomerular filtrate, the same step whose loss-of-function variants underlie renal hypouricemia. The antibody is validated for western blot detection of endogenous SLC22A12 in lysates from human, mouse, and rat tissue, and is used by groups working on the renal handling of urate, the pathophysiology of hyperuricemia and gout, and transporter expression in models of tubular injury. It is supplied as a 200 µl aliquot for routine immunoblotting workflows.
