Targeting the MCT2 monocarboxylate transporter encoded by SLC16A7, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied at 100 µl as an unconjugated reagent. SLC16A7 (solute carrier family 16 member 7) is a proton-linked transmembrane carrier that mediates the facilitated transport of monocarboxylates such as L-lactate, pyruvate, and ketone bodies across the plasma membrane, and it is most strongly expressed in tissues with high oxidative demand including testis, kidney, skeletal muscle, and subsets of central nervous system neurons.

Validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples, the antibody supports studies of metabolic coupling between astrocytes and neurons, oxidative muscle physiology, renal reabsorption, and tumor metabolism where altered lactate shuttling has been linked to malignancy. As an unconjugated polyclonal, it can be paired with user-selected reporter systems, including HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates, and combined with common anti-rabbit secondary antibodies. Each vial is intended for repeated use, and aliquoting on first thaw is recommended to preserve binding activity across experiments.
