Anti-SLC16A1 Antibody

Produced by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against monocarboxylate transporter 1 (MCT1), also known as solute carrier family 16 member 1, and is supplied as an affinity-purified, unconjugated IgG preparation at 1.0 mg/mL in a 50 µL aliquot. The antibody was generated by immunising rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of human SLC16A1, and it specifically detects the endogenous total MCT1/SLC16A1 protein in samples of human, mouse and rat origin, making it a versatile tool for cross-species research. Validated applications include Western blotting, immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, supporting its use in studies of lactate and monocarboxylate transport, tumour metabolism, and cellular energetics across a wide range of experimental systems. The buffer formulation is phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺) at pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide as preservative, and 50% glycerol for cryoprotection. For routine handling, the vial is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted upon arrival and stored long-term at −20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve antibody activity.
