SLC15A1, also known as PEPT1 (peptide transporter 1), is a proton-coupled oligopeptide transporter expressed predominantly on the apical brush-border membrane of small intestinal enterocytes, with additional detection in renal proximal tubule epithelium. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the SLC15A1 target and was validated for Western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat sample backgrounds. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock prepared in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and supports immunoblotting workflows investigating peptide transport, intestinal absorption of dipeptides and tripeptides, and drug uptake studies relevant to beta-lactam antibiotics and ACE inhibitor pharmacology. Being a polyclonal reagent, it offers epitope diversity that enables recognition of multiple regions of the 12-transmembrane-domain SLC15A1 transporter, useful when probing both full-length transporter and potential cleavage fragments. Researchers studying nutrient absorption physiology, gut barrier function, or pharmacokinetic transporter behavior can use this reagent to compare expression between tissues or under perturbation such as dietary change, disease models, or pharmacological inhibition. Short-term storage at 4 °C is appropriate; for longer term, aliquot and store frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light.
