SLC10A1 (also called NTCP, the Na+/taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide) is a hepatocyte basolateral membrane transporter responsible for most sodium-dependent bile acid uptake from portal blood into the liver, and it has been identified as the functional receptor through which hepatitis B and hepatitis D viruses enter hepatocytes. Antibodies.com provides a rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody to this target, raised against the human SLC10A1 protein and supplied unconjugated in a 100 µL vial validated for Western blot (WB) detection across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Because the reagent is polyclonal, multiple epitopes on the transporter are recognized, which can be useful when probing endogenous NTCP expression in primary hepatocyte lysates or heterologously expressed SLC10A1 in transfected cell lines. Typical applications include western blot analysis of bile acid transport biology, hepatic drug uptake studies, and investigations of viral host-receptor interactions relevant to HBV/HDV entry.

For handling, briefly centrifuge the vial before opening to recover the full volume, aliquot if needed to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store refrigerated while protected from light. The product is intended for research use only and is provided as a single-use liquid format for laboratory immunodetection.
