Anti-SKP1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the human S-phase kinase-associated protein 1, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com detects the ~19 kDa core component of the SCF (Skp1-Cullin-F-box) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. SKP1 acts as an adaptor that bridges F-box substrate receptors to the Cullin-RING catalytic core, directing phosphorylated proteins such as p27 and cyclin D1 toward ubiquitin-mediated degradation by the 26S proteasome.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of ready-to-dilute antiserum and has been validated for western blot detection of endogenous SKP1 in human cell and tissue lysates. Researchers use it to investigate SCF complex assembly, monitor F-box substrate turnover, and follow cell cycle progression through the G1/S checkpoint in oncogenesis and proliferation studies. For immunoblotting, dilute the antibody in TBST-BSA and detect with a standard HRP-conjugated secondary. Because SKP1 is highly conserved, the antibody may also recognize orthologues from other vertebrates, though it has been validated specifically for human reactivity.
