Developed as a primary research reagent for cancer biology and developmental signaling studies, this polyclonal IgG from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the Sine Oculis Homeobox 1 (SIX1) transcription factor. The unconjugated preparation is supplied as a 200µl liquid aliquot and is validated for Western Blot (WB) detection of endogenous SIX1 in human and mouse samples, with the target migrating near the calculated 32 kDa molecular weight.
SIX1 operates within the SIX1-EYA-DACH transcriptional network and is implicated in normal myogenesis, nephrogenesis, and otic placode formation, while its reactivation in adult tissues drives tumor progression in rhabdomyosarcoma, breast carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and Wilms tumor. The rabbit host and polyclonal format allow recognition of multiple epitopes, which is useful when probing post-translationally modified SIX1, low-abundance targets, or splice isoforms. The reagent is shipped in phosphate-buffered saline with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant; store at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity over the product shelf life.
Typical downstream applications include chromatin immunoprecipitation for mapping SIX1 occupancy at MEF3 motifs, co-immunoprecipitation of SIX1-EYA complexes, and quantitative Western Blot densitometry comparing SIX1 levels across tumor versus matched normal tissue. Researchers studying the SIX1/MYOD1 axis in fusion-negative rhabdomyosarcoma, EMT programs in luminal breast cancer, or SIX1's role in maintaining tumor-initiating cell populations will find this reagent useful for both discovery and validation work. The product is supplied in a single vial and is intended for research use only.
