SIRT3 is a mitochondrial NAD+-dependent deacetylase involved in regulating oxidative stress response, fatty acid oxidation, and TCA cycle flux through deacetylation of substrates such as MnSOD and IDH2. This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against the human SIRT3 protein and supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant. Each vial contains 100 µl, sufficient for several blotting and staining experiments.
Validated applications include Western blot (WB) for detection of SIRT3 in cell and tissue lysates, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections. The polyclonal antibody is reactive with human SIRT3 and is intended for research use only in studies of mitochondrial biology, ageing, and metabolic disease. For handling, the reagent may be kept at 4 °C for short-term use; for longer storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light when not in use.
