This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets SIGLEC5 (Sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin 5), a transmembrane inhibitory receptor expressed predominantly on cells of the myeloid lineage, including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and granulocytes. SIGLEC5 recognizes sialic acid-containing carbohydrate ligands through its extracellular Ig-like V-set domain and modulates innate immune signaling via an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) in its cytoplasmic tail, helping to dampen inappropriate cellular activation.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit, this product is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human and mouse samples. The unconjugated format allows investigators to choose their own secondary detection reagents, including HRP-conjugated, biotinylated, or fluorescent reporters, depending on the experimental design.

Beyond standard WB and IHC detection, the antibody is suited to immunoprecipitation experiments, fixed-cell immunofluorescence imaging, and flow cytometry panels exploring SIGLEC5 surface expression on innate immune subsets. Researchers studying sialic acid biology, pathogen interactions with myeloid checkpoints, tumor-associated glycan recognition, or inflammatory signaling pathways will find this reagent useful for probing SIGLEC5 distribution and function across diverse tissue contexts.
