Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin proteins Siglec-5 (also known as CD170) and the closely related Siglec-14, two transmembrane receptors of the Siglec family that recognize sialylated glycans and play roles in innate immune regulation. The antibody is generated against a synthesized peptide derived from the internal region of human Siglec-5 / 14 and is validated to detect endogenous levels of the Siglec-5 / 14 protein. It is supplied as an unconjugated liquid formulation in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, at a total protein concentration of 1 mg/mL. The catalog size offered is 50 µL (with a 100 µL option also available), and the recommended storage condition for this format is long-term at –20 °C to preserve antibody activity. Applications verified by the manufacturer are ELISA and Western blot (WB), making the reagent suitable for quantitative antigen detection in immunoassays as well as for confirming the expected molecular weight of Siglec-5 / 14 in cell or tissue lysates. Reactivity is reported for human samples, reflecting the species used to design the immunizing peptide, and the antibody should therefore be the reagent of choice for translational research programs focused on human myeloid-cell and Siglec biology. As an unconjugated polyclonal, it can be readily adapted by end users to their preferred detection chemistry — including HRP, biotin, fluorophore or bead-based secondary reagents — without the constraints of a pre-applied label, and it is intended for research use only.
