Raised in rabbit against the human Siglec-5 / 14 paired lectin receptors, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl volume and is validated for western blot and ELISA workflows.

Siglec-5 and Siglec-14 are paired innate immune receptors expressed primarily on neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages. They share nearly identical extracellular sialic acid–binding Ig-like domains but diverge in their cytoplasmic tails: Siglec-5 signals through an ITIM motif to dampen myeloid activation, whereas Siglec-14 pairs with the DAP12 adaptor to deliver an activating signal. This opposing pairing on the same cell lineage has made them a focus of research into innate immune regulation, pathogen sensing (notably group B streptococcal β-protein engagement of Siglec-5), and inflammatory disease contexts such as sepsis.

As an unconjugated host-rabbit polyclonal reagent with confirmed reactivity to human Siglec-5, this antibody supports western blot expression profiling and ELISA-based ligand or serum studies. Each vial is supplied at 100 µl; standard immunoglobulin storage and aliquoting practices help preserve binding activity across freeze-thaw cycles.
