This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against SHOX (Short Stature Homeobox), a homeodomain transcription factor encoded within the pseudoautosomal region 1 (PAR1) of the X and Y chromosomes. SHOX plays a critical role in skeletal growth plate development, and haploinsufficiency or loss-of-function mutations are linked to Léri-Weill dyschondrosteosis, Langer mesomelic dysplasia, Turner syndrome skeletal features, and a substantial fraction of idiopathic short stature cases.

Supplied as 100 µL of reagent at 1 mg/mL in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is unconjugated and validated for Western blot detection of endogenous SHOX protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. The glycerol-containing buffer supports routine freezer storage at -20 °C, and the polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives when probing low-abundance SHOX signals.

Suitable for expression profiling studies in chondrocyte, osteoblast, and fibroblast models, this reagent is also useful for investigators working on SHOX-regulated pathways such as FGFR3 signaling and IGF1 axis modulation during long bone growth. Each vial is intended for research use only and is compatible with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for downstream immunoblotting workflows.
