Produced in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal antiserum, this Antibodies.com reagent detects SHIP-2 (also known as INPPL1), an SH2-domain-containing inositol 5'-phosphatase that hydrolyzes phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate to phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate, dampening downstream PI3K/Akt signaling.

Validated for Western blot and ELISA against human, mouse, and rat samples, the antibody is used to track PI3K pathway output in insulin-receptor signaling studies, phagocytic cup formation in myeloid cells, and cytoskeletal remodeling assays. INPPL1 loss-of-function mutations cause opsismodysplasia, so a well-characterized SHIP-2 antibody supports skeletal dysplasia research and metabolic signaling investigations. For handling, aliquot upon arrival and store refrigerated; for longer-term storage, freeze at -20°C and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody titer.
