The SHC1 phospho-Y427 polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is an affinity-purified rabbit IgG that selectively recognizes the Src homology 2 domain adaptor SHC1 only when tyrosine 427 is phosphorylated. Phosphorylation at Y427 is induced downstream of activated receptor tyrosine kinases and growth factor receptors, making this reagent useful for tracking coupling between cell surface receptors and the Ras-MAPK cascade in signaling studies.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, the antibody cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting studies that compare signaling responses across species or in patient-derived tissue alongside mouse or rat model systems. The unconjugated IgG format leaves secondary reporter choice to the end user, allowing pairing with custom HRP, fluorophore, or biotin labeling chemistries for multiplex imaging or standard chromogenic detection.

Each vial is supplied as 100 µl of liquid, intended for research use only. Because the antibody is phospho-specific, samples should be handled to preserve labile phosphate modifications: lyse cells or tissues in the presence of phosphatase inhibitors, and store lysates at -80 °C if not blotted immediately, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
