Anti-Shc (phospho-Y349) Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the Shc adapter protein phosphorylated on tyrosine 349, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in 100 µl of phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2.

The antibody specifically detects the phospho-Y349 epitope of Shc, a docking protein that links activated receptor tyrosine kinases to the Ras-MAPK cascade through Grb2 recruitment. Phosphorylation at Y349 is a hallmark of growth factor receptor signaling downstream of activated receptor tyrosine kinases such as the EGF receptor, and tracking this site is a standard approach in studies of cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival.

Validated applications include Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat tissue or cell samples. The unconjugated format allows the user to pair the primary with a secondary antibody of choice for chromogenic or fluorescence detection.
