SH3GLB2, also known as endophilin B2 or Bif-1, is a member of the endophilin protein family that interacts with Bax and contributes to mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization during programmed cell death, while also participating in autophagosome biogenesis through its role in membrane curvature and tubulation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG primary antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against SH3GLB2 and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications, allowing detection of the endogenous protein in both cell lysates and fixed tissue sections. The reagent shows reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, which makes it useful for comparative work across the standard mammalian model organisms used in apoptosis and autophagy research. It is supplied as 200 µl of liquid stock and should be stored refrigerated, with aliquoting recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can degrade polyclonal titer over time. Researchers investigating Bax signaling, mitophagy, Parkin-independent mitochondrial turnover, or endophilin-mediated membrane remodeling in cancer cell lines and neural tissue have used this reagent to characterize expression patterns and subcellular localization of the target. The unconjugated format also leaves the antibody available for downstream labeling with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates chosen by the user.
