This Rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes SH2D1A, the intracellular signaling adapter also referred to as SAP (SLAM-associated protein). Supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated liquid preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the reagent is validated for Western blot detection of human, mouse, and rat samples.

SH2D1A binds phosphorylated tyrosines on SLAM-family receptors through its single SH2 domain and couples them to the Src-family kinase Fyn, modulating NK cell cytotoxicity, T cell–B cell conjugation in germinal centers, and T helper 2 cytokine responses. Loss-of-function mutations in the SH2D1A gene cause X-linked lymphoproliferative disease type 1 (XLP1, or Duncan disease), so the antibody is frequently used by research groups to probe EBV-triggered lymphoproliferation, immune synapse signaling, and autoimmune models.

The 100 µl vial is sized for mid-throughput western blot campaigns; store the stock frozen at -20 °C and thaw working aliquots on ice to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the antibody. A brief sodium azide handling note: 15 mM sodium azide is compatible with most chromogenic and fluorescent western workflows, but should be removed or avoided when HRP-conjugated secondary reagents are used for signal development, since residual azide can suppress peroxidase turnover.
