SGK1 (Serum and Glucocorticoid-regulated Kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the AGC kinase family. Its transcription is rapidly induced by glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids such as aldosterone, and a range of cellular stresses, and the enzyme plays a well-characterised role in regulating epithelial sodium transport through the ENaC channel, in addition to broader effects on cell survival, proliferation, and metabolic signalling.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets SGK1 and has been validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows in human, mouse, and rat samples. It is supplied as a 100 µl liquid stock at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide as a preservative and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, a formulation suited to freezer storage and to stability across routine freeze-thaw handling in active laboratory use.

Investigators apply this reagent to research areas including renal sodium handling and hypertension models, aldosterone-driven signalling in epithelial tissues, glucocorticoid-regulated gene networks, and studies of SGK1 dysregulation in metabolic disease, neurodegeneration, and tumour biology. As an unconjugated primary antibody, it pairs with standard HRP-conjugated or fluorophore-coupled secondary reagents of the researcher's choice, supporting flexible detection strategies such as chemiluminescent Western blot band visualisation, chromogenic IHC staining of formalin-fixed sections, and immunofluorescence imaging of SGK1 subcellular localisation in cultured cells.
