Raised in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this Antibodies.com primary antibody is directed against the cytoplasmic region of human epsilon-sarcoglycan (SGCE), a single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein that forms part of the dystrophin-associated sarcoglycan complex in skeletal and cardiac muscle.
Loss-of-function mutations in SGCE cause DYT11 myoclonus-dystonia syndrome, so reliable detection of the encoded protein in research samples depends on a well-validated reagent. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid, validated by the manufacturer for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human tissue sections and cultured cells.
For long-term stability, store the vial at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. The unconjugated format allows pairing with a user-selected secondary reporter, including HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated options. For research use only.
