Anti-SFTPB Antibody

Surfactant Protein B (SFTPB) is a 79-amino-acid hydrophobic peptide secreted by type II alveolar epithelial cells and incorporated into the pulmonary surfactant film responsible for lowering alveolar surface tension during breathing. This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against SFTPB, supplied unconjugated in a 50 µl liquid vial and validated for Western blot (WB) detection in human, mouse, and rat samples. The antibody recognizes the ~8.7 kDa mature peptide and frequently detected higher-mass precursor species, including a ~40-42 kDa proprotein band, depending on sample preparation and reducing conditions. Cross-reactivity across three species makes it useful for translational studies that compare rodent lung injury models with human clinical specimens, including surfactant biogenesis, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, and acute lung injury research.
