Splicing factor 3b subunit 1 (SF3B1) is the branch-point-recognizing component of the U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex, where it positions the pre-mRNA substrate for catalysis during spliceosome assembly. Because SF3B1 is recurrently mutated in myelodysplastic syndromes, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, uveal melanoma, and several solid tumors, antibodies against this protein are a mainstay of cancer biology and RNA splicing research. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against SF3B1 and has documented reactivity on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples in Western blot workflows.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes across the protein, which is helpful when probing full-length SF3B1 as well as its spliceosome-associated complexes. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it pairs with anti-rabbit IgG secondaries carrying HRP, fluorophore, biotin, or other reporters depending on the readout required, supporting chemiluminescent, fluorescent, or affinity-based detection in immunoblotting.

For routine handling, aliquot upon first thaw to minimize freeze-thaw cycles of the antibody solution; working aliquots can be kept refrigerated while the bulk stock is best stored frozen at -20°C or colder in single-use portions. The 0.05% sodium azide preservative precludes direct application on live cells or in coupling reactions where azide is inhibitory, so plan buffer exchanges when adapting this reagent beyond standard immunoblotting use on cell lysates.
