This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent recognises SF3A2, a core subunit of the U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (U2 snRNP) that reads the branch point sequence during pre-mRNA splicing. Supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody in a 200 µl volume, it is validated for Western blot (WB) detection of endogenous SF3A2 in mouse and rat samples.

SF3A2 contributes directly to spliceosome assembly, and immunoblotting with this antibody supports investigation of U2 snRNP function, alternative splicing regulation, and splicing-factor disease biology. Reported research uses include probing SF3A2 mutations associated with autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa (RP), where loss of photoreceptor gene expression has been linked to defects in U2-dependent branch point recognition, as well as characterising mis-splicing signatures in cancer cell lines. The polyclonal format binds multiple epitopes, which helps when working with partially degraded lysates or protein isoforms.

The product is provided for research use only in Western blot workflows on murine and rat-derived material. Standard polyclonal antibody storage and handling apply to preserve binding activity across repeated experiments.
