Splicing factor 3a subunit 2 (SF3A2) sits at the core of the U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex and is incorporated into the spliceosome during pre-mRNA splicing, where it contributes to branch-point recognition and assembly of the catalytically active splicing machinery. The Anti-SF3A2 Antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent that allows researchers to detect this endogenous spliceosome subunit in their samples.

This unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as 100 µl of liquid in a vial and is validated for Western blot detection of SF3A2 in mouse and rat samples. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the approximately 50 kDa SF3A2 polypeptide, which is useful when working with lysates where post-translational modification or isoform diversity could otherwise compromise signal. Cross-reactivity with both rodent species makes it practical for comparative cell-line, primary tissue, and brain lysate work using a single reagent.

For handling, aliquot upon first thaw and store working aliquots at -20°C to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the antibody remains stable short-term at 4°C, and brief exposure to room temperature during Western blot workflows does not compromise performance. Researchers use this reagent for immunoblotting of splicing-complex components, validation of CRISPR or RNAi knockdowns targeting SF3A2, and characterization of U2 snRNP-associated factors in basic RNA-biology studies. This product is intended for research use only.
