SETMAR, also known as Metnase, is a chimeric chromatin-associated enzyme produced by fusion of a SET-domain protein methyltransferase with a mariner-family transposase domain. It supports non-homologous end joining during DNA double-strand break repair, remodels local chromatin at damage sites, and contributes to genome stability in actively dividing cells. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against SETMAR and is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous protein in standard mammalian samples.

The antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat SETMAR, enabling comparative expression studies across common laboratory models and human cell lines. Each vial is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.3, in a 100 µl format. Because it is polyclonal, the reagent recognises multiple epitopes on SETMAR, which is useful when probing full-length protein as well as truncated isoforms produced by alternative splicing or partial proteolysis.

Typical applications include immunoblotting of whole-cell lysates and enriched nuclear fractions prepared from cultured cells, confirming expression changes after genotoxic stress, and characterising CRISPR-engineered lines carrying edits in either the SET or transposase region. Store refrigerated at 4 degrees C in the original vial, protect from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity across experiments.
