Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, this Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent targets SERINC2, a multipass transmembrane protein of the serine incorporator family. SERINC proteins were originally characterized for embedding serine into membrane phospholipids during lipid biosynthesis, and subsequent work has implicated SERINC2 as a modest restriction factor for HIV-1 and related retroviruses, as well as a molecule of interest in hepatocellular carcinoma and several other cancers, where altered expression has been tied to tumor proliferation and migration phenotypes.
The antibody is provided as 100 µl of liquid and has been validated for Western blot detection of the SERINC2 target in human, rat, and mouse samples. Researchers studying membrane biology, host-pathogen interactions, or cancer cell signaling can probe endogenous SERINC2 levels across these three species using this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent.
