Targeting selenophosphate synthetase 1 (SEPHS1), this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µL vial and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) on human, mouse, and rat samples.

SEPHS1 catalyzes the ATP-driven synthesis of selenophosphate, the activated selenium donor used in the co-translational biosynthesis of selenocysteine and the recoding of UGA codons in selenoprotein mRNAs. Investigators working on selenoprotein expression, redox homeostasis, and trace element metabolism apply this antibody to monitor endogenous protein abundance in cultured cells and in fixed tissue sections. Because the reagent is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes on SEPHS1, which improves detection across mammalian orthologs and is useful when comparing rodent models with human specimens.

For Western blot the antibody can be paired with standard HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary reagents; for immunofluorescence it supports imaging of the endogenous SEPHS1 pool in aldehyde-fixed cells. Aliquot on first use, refrigerate between experiments, and limit freeze-thaw cycles to maintain activity over the shelf life of the vial.
