A polyclonal IgG preparation raised in rabbit and affinity-purified against human SELPLG, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated reagent in a 200 µl vial. SELPLG (Selectin P-Ligand, also called PSGL-1) is a heavily glycosylated type I transmembrane sialoglycoprotein displayed on leukocytes that mediates the initial tethering and rolling step of the leukocyte adhesion cascade through binding to P-, E-, and L-selectins on activated endothelium and platelets. Investigators studying inflammation, neutrophil and lymphocyte trafficking, hematopoietic stem cell homing, sickle cell vaso-occlusion, and the early leukocyte recruitment events that drive atherosclerosis and autoimmune tissue injury use SELPLG antibodies to follow expression and regulation of this adhesion receptor at the protein level.

The reagent is validated for Western blot on human samples and supports detection of the mature, glycosylated form of the protein, which migrates considerably higher than the calculated backbone molecular weight because of extensive O-linked glycosylation and tyrosine sulfation on the N-terminal extracellular region. As a polyclonal reagent, it recognizes multiple epitopes on the SELPLG extracellular domain, which is helpful when probing proteins whose glycosylation patterns vary between leukocyte subsets and activation states. The antibody is supplied in a standard PBS-based buffer with stabilizers and should be stored refrigerated in working aliquots; freeze-thaw cycles should be minimized to preserve binding activity. Intended for research use only and not for diagnostic, prognostic, or therapeutic applications.
