SCO1 (Synthesis of Cytochrome C Oxidase 1) is a mitochondrial copper-chaperone protein required for the assembly and stability of cytochrome c oxidase, also known as complex IV of the electron transport chain. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is reactive with human SCO1, supporting studies of mitochondrial copper homeostasis, oxidative phosphorylation, and disorders linked to SCO1 dysfunction such as fatal infantile mitochondrial disease with hepatic and cardiac involvement.

Provided as 100 µl of affinity-purified reagent at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is unconjugated and validated for Western blot detection of endogenous SCO1 in cell and tissue lysates, as well as immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections. Researchers investigating mitochondrial biogenesis, copper trafficking, and respiratory chain assembly can use it to assess SCO1 expression patterns across human tissues and disease models, complementing functional assays of complex IV activity and studies of copper metabolism defects.
