Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG polyclonal reagent, this Primary Antibody from Antibodies.com targets secretogranin III (SCG3), a 53 kDa granin-family protein that sorts peptide hormones and prohormones into the regulated secretory pathway of neuroendocrine cells by tethering chromogranin A aggregates to cholesterol-rich domains of the trans-Golgi network. The 200 µl liquid aliquot is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, with recommended starting dilutions of 1:500–1:2,000 for WB and 1:50–1:100 for IHC on paraffin-embedded sections. Confirmed reactivity spans human, mouse, and rat SCG3, enabling cross-species studies of pituitary, pancreatic beta-cell, and adrenal tissue.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, users can pair it with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary detection reagents of their choice and run multi-label co-localization experiments on the same primary. Polyclonal recognition of multiple epitopes supports detection of proteolytic fragments and alternative SCG3 isoforms. SCG3 has been implicated in secretory granule biogenesis, pancreatic insulin processing, hypothalamic neuropeptide release, and as a circulating biomarker in metabolic syndrome, while also acting as an angiogenic ligand in preclinical diabetic retinopathy models. The vial should be stored at -20 °C and protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles; aliquoting on first use preserves antibody activity.
