Anti-SCG3 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets SCG3 (Secretogranin III), a granin family protein that contributes to the biogenesis of regulated secretory granules in hormone-producing neuroendocrine cells. Supplied as an unconjugated IgG reagent in a 100 µl liquid vial, it is affinity-purified and formulated in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.30) containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Validated for Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry workflows, the antibody recognizes SCG3 in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. Recommended dilutions are 1:500–1:2000 for Western Blot of cell line extracts loaded at 25 µg per lane, and 1:50–1:100 for IHC on paraffin-embedded sections, including human stomach tissue used as a positive control. As an unconjugated reagent, it pairs with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies selected by the end user.

Researchers apply this reagent to probe SCG3 expression in adrenal gland, pancreas, pituitary, and neuronal cell populations, and to investigate altered granin expression in tumor-derived neuroendocrine cell lines. The polyclonal antibody detects native and denatured SCG3 in whole-cell or tissue lysates and localizes SCG3-positive neuroendocrine cells in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

For storage, the vial should be aliquoted upon receipt and stored at -20°C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Concentration is lot specific.
