Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody recognizes human Secretogranin II (SCG2), a granin-family acidic protein that is packaged into dense-core secretory granules of neuroendocrine and neuronal cells. SCG2 functions as a prohormone that is proteolytically processed into bioactive peptides, including secretoneurin, with reported roles in regulated secretion, inflammatory modulation, and tissue remodeling. Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl preparation and validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples, the reagent targets multiple epitopes across the protein, which is useful when studying post-translationally modified or proteolytically cleaved forms of the target in cell and tissue contexts.

Researchers commonly apply it to neuroendocrine differentiation studies in tumor cell lines, hormone secretion work in pituitary or adrenal preparations, mapping of granule biogenesis in neurons, and stress-axis signaling investigations. Standard WB protocols combine SDS-PAGE separation with PVDF or nitrocellulose transfer before blocking and probing, while IF workflows use fixation and permeabilization steps prior to incubation with the primary reagent and an anti-rabbit IgG secondary matched to the chosen reporter. Aliquoting on first use is recommended for the unconjugated format, which keeps freeze-thaw exposure limited and preserves lot-to-lot performance across repeated experiments.
