This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human SCARB2 (the lysosomal integral membrane protein LIMP-2, also known as LGP85 or CD36L2) and is supplied as an unconjugated 200 µL aliquot. SCARB2 has two well-characterized cellular roles: chaperoning beta-glucocerebrosidase from the endoplasmic reticulum to the lysosome, and serving as the cellular attachment and entry receptor for enterovirus 71 and coxsackievirus A16, the picornaviruses responsible for hand-foot-and-mouth disease.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, the antibody supports cross-species studies of lysosomal storage disorders, viral host-cell entry, and neurodegenerative disease. Loss-of-function mutations in SCARB2 have been identified as a genetic cause of action myoclonus-renal failure syndrome, a progressive myoclonus epilepsy with renal involvement, making this reagent relevant for neurogenetics and lysosomal biology workflows, including immunoblotting of whole-cell lysates and IHC staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
