Raised in rabbit against the SCARB1 antigen, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com supports Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples. SCARB1, also called SR-BI, is a class B scavenger receptor best known for mediating selective uptake of cholesteryl esters from HDL particles, with high expression in liver, adrenal cortex, and steroidogenic tissues.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, supplied unconjugated for flexible downstream labeling. The reagent is compatible with standard immunoblotting of membrane-enriched fractions and with formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections stained for SR-BI localization in hepatocytes, adrenal cortical cells, and placental trophoblast.

Polyclonal reactivity across three species lets the same lot be used for cross-species expression studies, for example comparing hepatic SR-BI abundance in dietary or genetic mouse models with human biopsy material. Storage at -20°C is recommended for the glycerol stock; aliquoting is advised to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the antibody solution and preserve binding activity.
