The SBDS protein, encoded by the Shwachman-Bodian-Diamond Syndrome gene on chromosome 7q11, is a highly conserved factor essential for 60S ribosomal subunit maturation and ribosome biogenesis. Loss-of-function mutations in SBDS are the primary cause of Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, skeletal abnormalities, and bone marrow dysfunction. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against SBDS and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows, making it a useful reagent for studies of ribosome assembly, hematopoietic development, and Shwachman-Diamond syndrome pathology across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum in a single vial, the antibody is generated in rabbit and recognizes endogenous SBDS in cell lysates and fixed cells. Its cross-reactivity with human, mouse, and rat enables comparative work in established cell lines, primary tissues, and rodent disease models. Because the reagent is supplied unconjugated, researchers can pair it with fluorescent or HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies of their choice and adapt it to immunoblotting of ribosome-associated fractions, IF imaging of nucleolar and cytoplasmic localization, or co-localization studies with other ribosome biogenesis factors such as eIF6.
