Anti-SAMHD1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this Antibodies.com primary antibody is directed against SAMHD1, a host dNTP triphosphohydrolase best known for restricting HIV-1 and other retroviruses in non-dividing myeloid cells and resting CD4+ T lymphocytes. Loss-of-function mutations in SAMHD1 cause Aicardi-Goutières syndrome, a type I interferonopathy, and the protein is also implicated in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and other hematologic cancers, making it a frequent target in virology, innate immunity, and oncology research.

Validated for Western blot and ELISA on human samples, the antibody is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, giving laboratories flexibility to conjugate it to HRP, biotin, or fluorophore reporters of their choice.

Typical uses include tracking endogenous SAMHD1 expression in primary monocytes, monocyte-derived macrophages, dendritic cells, and patient-derived lymphoid lines, as well as studying dNTP pool regulation, cGAS-STING signaling, and retroviral restriction mechanisms.
