Salmonella lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is the dominant glycolipid in the outer membrane of Salmonella enterica, and its conserved core oligosaccharide provides a detection handle that works across many serovars. This mouse monoclonal antibody is raised against that LPS core region, allowing laboratories to identify Salmonella in mixed cultures, food enrichment broths, and clinical specimens without depending on a single O-antigen serotype.

From Antibodies.com, this reagent is produced in mouse and purified by Protein A chromatography, yielding an IgG2b isotype preparation supplied unconjugated at 1 mg per vial. The unconjugated format lets end users conjugate to HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore of their choice, while Protein A purification keeps background low in downstream detection assays.

The antibody has been validated for ELISA and IFA workflows. In ELISA, it captures or detects LPS from broth cultures or isolates. In immunofluorescence, it reveals bacterial cells and LPS distribution on slides. Each vial is intended for research use only; aliquot on arrival and freeze the contents for long-term storage to limit freeze-thaw damage to the protein.

End users include food-microbiology QC laboratories, veterinary and public-health surveillance programs, and academic groups studying Gram-negative envelope biology or host-pathogen interactions where a broad-coverage Salmonella reagent is more practical than serotype-specific alternatives.
