RUVBL2 (RuvB-like 2) is a highly conserved AAA+ ATPase and DNA helicase that participates in chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and the DNA damage response. It acts as an essential component of multiprotein assemblies such as the INO80 complex, the TIP60/NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, and the R2TP cochaperone complex, where it contributes to nucleosome sliding, histone acetylation, and maturation of box C/D small nucleolar ribonucleoproteins. Altered RUVBL2 expression has been reported in hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer, supporting its use as a biomarker in studies of tumor biology.
