RUVBL2 (also called Reptin or TIP48) is a highly conserved AAA+ family ATPase and DNA helicase that assembles into hexameric ring structures and acts as a scaffold inside several large multiprotein complexes. It is an essential component of the INO80 chromatin-remodeling complex, the TIP60/NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, and the R2TP co-chaperone machinery that loads client proteins such as PIKK family kinases onto HSP90. RUVBL2 participates in transcription regulation, ribosome biogenesis, telomere maintenance, and the DNA damage response, and it has become a research focus in oncology because elevated expression is reported across multiple solid tumor types.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and it is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. The antibody is raised in rabbit and detects endogenous RUVBL2 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species comparative studies in cell lysates, fixed tissue sections, and cultured cells. For long-term storage, keep the vial frozen at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light.

Recommended applications include western blot detection of the approximately 51 kDa RUVBL2 band in whole-cell extracts, immunofluorescence localization to nuclear compartments, and immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes, which can improve signal when target expression is low or when working with partially denatured samples, while the unconjugated format allows downstream labeling with reporter enzymes or fluorophores chosen by the researcher.
