RUNX-2 (Runt-related transcription factor 2, also known as CBFA1 or AML3) is the master transcriptional regulator of osteoblast commitment and skeletal morphogenesis. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit against a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region surrounding Asp198 of human RUNX-2, and is provided as 50 µl of unconjugated liquid stock at 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the reagent detects endogenous RUNX-2 in cell lysates and tissue sections prepared from human, mouse, and rat samples. It is used in studies of mesenchymal stem cell osteogenesis, characterization of cleidocranial dysplasia (a disorder linked to RUNX2 haploinsufficiency), investigation of bone neoplasia, and lineage tracing of hypertrophic chondrocytes during endochondral ossification. The antibody recognizes the nuclear-localized transcription factor and is widely cited in bone biology and craniofacial research.

Storage and handling: keep refrigerated; aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. Sodium azide serves as a preservative; handle with standard laboratory safety practices. Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening to recover liquid from the cap.
