A rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com, this primary antibody targets human Reticulon 4 (RTN4), the membrane-associated protein commonly known as Nogo. It is supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated liquid and is validated for Western blot detection of the human target in research use.

RTN4 is a member of the reticulon family of proteins, predominantly localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and expressed in neurons as well as several non-neural tissues. Alternative splicing produces three principal isoforms, Nogo-A, Nogo-B, and Nogo-C, of which Nogo-A is the largest and most extensively studied. In the central nervous system, RTN4 is best known for inhibiting neurite outgrowth and limiting axonal regeneration after injury, signaling through the Nogo receptor 1 (NgR1) complex together with co-receptors such as NgR2 and PirB. Outside neurobiology, RTN4 has been linked to apoptosis regulation, endoplasmic reticulum tubule shaping, vascular remodeling, and immune cell signaling, and it is actively investigated in spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and certain cancers, giving this reagent broad utility across neuroscience, cell biology, and oncology laboratories.

For Western blot, the antibody is paired with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents and applied to lysates of cells or tissues that express the human protein. Reported band patterns resolve the high-molecular-weight Nogo-A isoform alongside the smaller Nogo-B species. Store refrigerated upon arrival and protect from light; for longer-term storage, aliquot and keep frozen, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity.
