Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl aliquot, this polyclonal antibody is directed against the V643 region of human Rrn3, an RNA polymerase I transcription factor that is functionally conserved from yeast to mammals and is implicated in the regulation of rRNA gene transcription. The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 613–660 of the human Rrn3 sequence, and the antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen, yielding a purity of greater than 95% as judged by SDS-PAGE. The reagent is provided at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at roughly pH 7.2, and the unconjugated rabbit IgG is suitable for Western blotting and immunohistochemistry applications on human samples, with an expected band near 74 kDa. For short-term use it should be kept at 4 °C, while for longer storage aliquots are recommended at −20 °C with avoidance of repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Endogenous levels of the Rrn3 protein are detected under standard conditions, supporting studies of Pol I-dependent transcription and ribosome biogenesis.
