Ribonucleotide reductase large subunit (RRM1), the catalytic subunit of the enzyme that converts ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides for DNA synthesis, can be detected using this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com. RRM1 is widely studied in cancer biology, S-phase regulation, and the cellular response to gemcitabine and other nucleoside analogue drugs, making this reagent directly relevant to DNA replication, DNA damage, and chemotherapy-response workflows.

Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is packaged as a 100 µl vial. The glycerol-based formulation supports storage at -20 °C without freeze-thaw damage, while sodium azide preserves the reagent across repeated uses. The unconjugated format gives laboratories flexibility to pair the antibody with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for their preferred detection chemistry.

Validated applications include Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Reactivity has been confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational studies across standard cell-line and tissue models. As a polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, the antibody targets multiple epitopes on RRM1, which is advantageous when working with fixed or post-translationally modified protein where a single monoclonal epitope may be masked.

Typical uses include confirming RRM1 expression in tumor biopsies and cell lines by IHC, tracking protein levels by Western blot following siRNA knockdown or drug treatment, and visualizing subcellular localization by immunofluorescence. Investigators of gemcitabine resistance in pancreatic and lung cancer, replication stress, or nucleotide metabolism pathways will find this reagent applicable to their experimental workflows.
