RPS19 (Ribosomal Protein S19) is a core component of the small 40S ribosomal subunit required for ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis. Heterozygous mutations in the RPS19 gene are the most frequent genetic cause of Diamond-Blackfan anemia, a rare inherited disorder of defective erythropoiesis. Beyond ribosome assembly, RPS19 has been characterized as a C5a receptor ligand with monocyte chemotactic activity and has been investigated in extra-ribosomal contexts relevant to inflammation and tumor biology.

This Rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against RPS19 and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). It cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative studies across mammalian model systems. The antibody is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, as a 100 µl vial. Aliquot upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store refrigerated, and protect from light to preserve polyclonal reactivity.

Common uses include Western blot detection of endogenous RPS19 in whole-cell lysates from cultured mammalian cell lines, and IHC localization in fixed tissue sections from human, mouse, or rat origin. Researchers investigating ribosomopathy mechanisms, Diamond-Blackfan anemia models, ribosomal stress responses, or extra-ribosomal RPS19 signaling will find this reagent useful for tracking target expression across species.
