Investigating RPL9 with a Validated Polyclonal Reagent

Ribosomal protein L9 (RPL9) is a conserved component of the 60S large ribosomal subunit that binds 28S rRNA during translation. This unconjugated IgG antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and affinity-purified for specific detection of the human RPL9 protein in Western blot applications. Supplied as 100 µl of working solution, the reagent is reactive with human samples and recognizes the endogenous protein in whole-cell lysates analyzed by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting.

Beyond its canonical role in protein synthesis, RPL9 has been studied in contexts including cancer cell proliferation, ribosomal stress responses, and hematopoiesis, where ribosomal protein haploinsufficiency has been linked to Diamond-Blackfan anemia and other ribosomopathies. Researchers investigating translation regulation, ribosome biogenesis, or stress signaling pathways use this antibody to probe steady-state RPL9 levels across cell lines and primary tissue samples.

For Western blot, the antibody is applied to membranes after standard transfer and blocking, then detected with an HRP- or fluorescent-labeled secondary reagent. Store at -20°C, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by preparing single-use aliquots on first thaw, and protect from light when using fluorescent secondaries. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with chromogenic, chemiluminescent, or imaging-based detection systems.
