Primary antibody reagent from Antibodies.com raised in rabbit against ribosomal protein L26 (RPL26), a conserved component of the 60S large ribosomal subunit required for cytoplasmic translation. RPL26 has also been characterized as a translational regulator of p53 mRNA through binding to its 5' untranslated region, linking ribosome biogenesis to the DNA damage response. This unconjugated IgG reagent is validated for Western blot detection of the human target, which migrates near 17 kDa on SDS-PAGE. Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, it supports immunoblotting studies of ribosome assembly, nucleolar stress signalling, and haematopoietic disorders such as Diamond-Blackfan anaemia in which RPL26 mutations have been reported.
